hike the train rails to Tenmile Creek valley,
ford the Animas River,
ascend Tenmile Creek valley,
descend valley and ford the Animas again,
hike back to Needleton,
narrow gauge train back to Durango.

I had dreamed of exploring the remote, rugged,
trailless Tenmile Creek valley for 51 years
before finally accomplishing it this year.
That was the primary goal of this year's trip.
