The mountain came into view soon after
beginning my hike on the approach day:




Headed for this 13,000' loft:




It was a four-mile approach-hike to get to the trail head,
as my four-wheel-drive wasn't engaging and there were some
steep slippery stretches on the road:







Then a three-mile steep hike up the forested slope and
a mile of hiking up the alpine mesa along the ridge.
