Darling Elsie -

Well it's 10 min past 11:00 P.M. I just got to my room from the Walther League Young Peoples Society meeting. Gosh but one sure can have a lot of fun at those meetings. It's the only place where I go to enjoy myself. After the meeting we played a couple very good games of which I had never heard of before. After the games, a nice lunch was served. I'm really getting acquainted with the young people of the society very rapidly. Out here is the easiest place to get acquainted that I ever dreamed of. There were about 35 or 40 present tonight. I received a big hearty welcome from the young folks when I appeared at the meeting two weeks ago tonight and also tonite.
Say, - have you got your answer on the way to me yet, in regard to me applying for a position with the Davidson Bread Co.? You know by golly, I really hadn't given it much thought, being that it was only a short time ago that I got the job which I have now, until the last couple days I got to thinking that by gosh the Col. Food Co. are only looking out for themselves and why shouldn't I look out for myself instead of feeling that I should stay with them just because they just recently had given me this job. I've decided that if I can get a better job with Davidson's, why shouldn't I take it. So tomorrow morning I'm going to ask the Davidson deliveryman in regard to that Minn. man's name. And then Tues morning I'm going down and see him. Maybe there's something to it; maybe I really can get a job there this fall. After all there's nothing like trying and if I can land it, why that just means more money in my pocket. Here's hoping!
Well Darling it's already 11:25 and it's about time I was going to bed.
Say Darling! When you get out here, you're going to find out something; and that is that you just simply won't be able to get enough sleep. When Vernon & I first got here, we slept for about 10 or 11 hours out of every 24 hrs. Vern told us that it is that way with everybody who arrives here from the east. It takes one about a month or two to get over it. The reason for it is because the air is so much fresher here than the air east of the Rockies.
