Must have been about ninth or tenth grade that Pam sat on the couch evening after evening for many weeks (months?), weaving an afghan. No one knew she was making it for Mom and Dad. [Memory adjustment, courtesy Pam - it was a 1971 Mother's Day gift, worked on both at home and at work during breaks.] The two items below, still hanging on the walls at the homestead, were hand stitched by Pam.
