                                          Bemidji, Minn.

Dear Darling-
I think I better mail this letter tonite, though it is already 10:30 P.M. I didn't get in 'till 6:45 from West Soo Line, then I ate a snappy lunch at 3rd St. Cafe and I was about 10 or 15 minutes late to the sales meeting. The meeting closed at 10:00.
Vera is coming out with your folks & myself Sunday and maybe Jerry will go too. I certainly hope that we find you feeling a lot better next Sun. than last Wed eve. It sure seems lonely around here with you & Duane gone so long. But then I realize that it's a lot more so for you, especially since you have been moved so far from us. I told the manager of 3rd St Cafe that you had been in Bemidji Hospital for 3 weeks & 1 week at Crookston, then he asked me tonite how I & my family were. He sure seemed surprised as he spoke of what a healthy girl you were while at the cafe. He knows Dr. Oppegaard & said that he is the finest one can get.
Well I had to make the West Soo Line all in one day (today) because I had to make the north trip as far as Gemmell, Minn. yesterday. Homer did not get time to make all that territory when he was up there. So I was here last nite after all, therefore I did eat supper at Jerry's with Les & Edith & family. They all came up here after supper because they wanted to see Donald & Kay before they left. It so happened that Dad & Mother had come in early in the evening & left Duane here with Naomi. So Lester & Family got to see him too. My - but hasn't Carl got curly hair though? It was going on 11 P.M. when they left and I was so tired that I went right to bed. I did not get to bed until about 1:00 in the morning the nite before as May had us stay for lunch at her house on our way back from Crookston and we did not get out of there until about 11:15.
I am going to try not to forget to bring you this week's editions of the Pioneer including the one of your entry to Crookston Hospital.
I have not heard any local news of interest except that Lester & Edith were going back today. I haven't looked at tonite's paper or last nite's either.
Dr. Grocshuph asked me to make monthly payments, as I told you, but when I told Dad this he told me to get a complete statement and then he would see if he could arrange to pay it up. Doc certainly ought to be able to give me a little discount in that case, it seems to me, don't you think so? Maybe he won't make any charge for this last deal, being that we were not satisfied. I am going to try to see him tomorrow.
I think the mail for the west leaves here at 4 A.M., so as I stated before, I'll mail this tonite so you get it Sat. instead of Mon.
Hoping you are much better Sunday, and have good news for me.

               I am
                       Yours with Love
                               Irvin

P.S. I got a card from Don Wright. His address is at Fort Lewis Wash, yet it seems he is stationed in Oregon same place. The card came from Mt. Hood in Oregon & postmarked at Fort Lewis. I can't figure it all out. Irvin
