Dear Darling -
Am taking time out from my work to drop a few lines to you. It's 2 A.M. I stopped at Harley's for just a minute Sunday. May said she was expecting to pay you a visit this week. I presume she is going to the Forks. I got the carrots all in. Also the beets & parsnips. Maybe I should wait with the rest of the garden Darling, and let you finish the planting, huh? Well this is one summer that you'll get out of gardening. Jim Slough socked Ralph Kingsbury in the eye for making affections with his divorced wife last nite. I was out to the folks when Ralph called out there for his dad. He was at the hospital when he called. Dr Vandersluis & Whittimoor spent better than an hour on the operation of his eye. I thought they would remove it but I was mistaken, as he will have vision in it. Seems odd that Slough would do a thing of that kind after he has been divorced from her quite awhile, so Herman Prochnow tells me. I was going to call your folks today and let them know how you were getting along, but by golly Darling I plumb forgot to call them. I must call them this A.M. for sure. I've lots of work to do yet so I'll write you more tomorrow (or I mean today). I hope you are continuing to improve your strength. So Long Darling    Love & Lots of xxx    Irvin
