Dear Darling,
I just got home from your folks. We stopped at Harley's on the way home and had chicken dinner with them. He asked me to be sure to stop there next Sunday on the way to Crookston so that he can send you a boquet of gladiolas by me. It was 7:30 before we got away from there. I cut across country from Wilton to Dad's farm and then I stopped at the wholesale house and checked up around there. I then took the keys up to Sig's because he goes to work at 2:00 in the morning. And then I took your folks home. I had no more than got there when Ed Paulson came over to see your dad and I stayed and visited with him and your dad for about half hour or more and then hit for home. Donald didn't care one bit that I was going off without him. I said goodnight to him just to see what he'd do but he just laughed at me so I says, "Aren't you even going to kiss Daddy Goodnight?" and he slipped off his grandma's lap like greased lightening and came and kissed me, then backed up and waved his hand to me and said "Bye" just like I were just some friend of his, and he did all of it with a big, big smile on his face. I was going to cover up the tomatoes tonite but it's almost 11:00 and the temp. is only down to 42 degrees, so I don't think it is going to freeze, but to make sure, I am setting the alarm for 3:30 and check the thermometer then. I may then find that they will need to be covered.
But if I don't get to bed soon I'm liable not to hear the alarm so I'd better close this letter, Darling, and get a little sleep-eye. Oh Say, Grand forks is where Harely & May were last Tues. They were at church when we stopped there this morning.
Well good-nite Darling and God Bless You

                     Lots of Love & Kisses
                     From your Hubby
                                   Irvin
