                                   Mon 8:30 P.M.

My Dear Elsie,
How are you now, Darling? Better, I hope.
Last night I took your letter to the depot but both of the depots were locked so I did not get it mailed until this morning. So you probably won't get it till tomorrow, (Tues). So I'll mail this when I go to work in the morning in order that you get it Wed. instead of two letters on Tues., and then I won't have to go downtown tonite then either.
Well I did not hear the alarm at 3:30 this A.M. but I did wake up somehow at 6:15. Sure is funny I didn't oversleep an hour or more. Funny part of it is, it froze hard almost everywhere, in and around Bemidji, but our garden did not even get touched. Mr. Butt's garden froze black as coal. There is quite a strong south wind tonite so I don't think it'll freeze in the morning, although the wind is pretty cold. I just did not feel at all like making my own supper tonight so I ate at Bud's Lunch on my way home from work. Cost me 40 cents. Pulled a lot of those big weeds out of the garden before I came in to read the paper and write you.
My, but it sure was quiet around the wholesale house today. Seems like the city is getting quieter every day. I don't know why Darling but I just can't think of anything else to write about. Guess nothing happens around here. I've had no mail from anybody since you went back to Crookston except for the cards you have sent me. I am enclosing a clipping from the Pioneer. I saw Eldon Graff at Bud's Lunch this evening or afternoon. I asked him if he was going to get married before he goes to the army, and he says "no Sir'ee, I should say I'm not". Said he was going to enjoy himself and save the married life stuff for when he gets out of the army. He was on the hoot-to-toot.
Well I guess I better get to bed early tonite so until tomorrow, Good nite Sweetie Pie and I hope your recovery speeds up considerably.

                     Oceans of Love
                                   Irvin
