                           10:30 P.M.

Dear Darling,
I am very sorry that I did not write you last nite, but you realize that it was almost 12 o'clock before I got to bed Wed. nite. Then last nite Herman was down here fixing the garge and I helped him of course. We worked till 9:30. By that time the mosquitos were so bad and it was dark so we had to quit. I was so tired from lack of sleep the nite before that I went right to bed. Tonight was the sales meeting as you know. So here it is 10:40 already. But I must write so you have a little of something to read tomorrow (Saturday) anyway. Speaking of reading, I will bring those Pioneers with me Sun.
You certainly looked much better Wednesday and I sure hope you are still much better by Sunday. As much as I have loved you, I don't believe I realized how much I really did love you till you were taken away from me so that I do not see you or smell the aroma of the meal that you would have ready for me if you were here when I come home from work. Anyway I can and am looking forward to when you soon will be here with me.
I stopped at No. 1 on the way home tonite and had ONE bottle of Budwieser beer. I saw Happy Halvorson there. I asked him if he'd heard from Jerry. He said that he had had no letter from him but that he received the money which Jerry borrowed from him awhile back.
I picked a half bushel ripe tomatoes last nite. Herman told Mrs Barnes that I would sell them so she sent 50 cents down to me with Herman and took them. I had told Herman that I would sell them for 1.00 per bu.
Oh, say. I must not forget that we got a letter form Les & Edith. I'll enclose it.
I did not take my clothes out to your folks Sunday so I'll have to take or send them out this coming Sunday for sure, and I'll probably have to go out and get them Tues. nite or I'll be rather short of socks & hankies.
I thought I would surprise you and have your new cupboard all built in before you came home. But after I went down to the lumber company and got the specifications, I did not know just what kind of flour & sugar bins you would want so I am stalling it till you get home.
Bud Hiekess (Bud's Lunch) wants me to work for him Saturday evening from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Shell station. I am accepting it. I don't think I told you that he leased the station next to his lunch last Wed.
Well, Gee, Darling, I wish I could write more but I just can't think of another thing. I haven't talked to either your or my folks, but I will call them tomorrow A.M. and make arrangements for our Sunday trip. Well Good nite Darling and God Bless you. I'll be seein' you Sunday     Love from Irvin
